Criminal Investigations
The Long Beach Police Department’s Criminal Investigation Division (CID) is responsible for investigating crimes and other incidents. In addition to state certification, Detectives receive specialized training in investigative techniques to stay current on the latest criminal activities and trends.
CID also includes Detectives who specialize in cases involving narcotics and the Evidence Technician who collects and maintains all evidence for the department per state requirements.
In addition to carrying out the overall mission of the Long Beach Police Department, the goal of CID is to perform preliminary and follow up activity in an effort to bring all cases to a successful conclusion.
