William A. Seal, III

Chief William “Billy” Seal is a lifelong resident of Long Beach and a 1991 graduate of Long Beach High School. Chief Seal began his law enforcement career in June 1994 as a Deputy with the Harrison County Sheriff’s Department. In March 1996 he transferred to the Long Beach Police Department. During his tenure with the Long Beach Police Department, Chief Seal has risen through the ranks, having served as a Patrolman, K-9 Officer, School Resource Officer, Patrol Sergeant, Lieutenant over Training and Standards, Commander of Operations and Commander of Administrative Services, before being appointed Chief of Police on October 1, 2017.

Chief Seal holds an Associate of Science Degree in Criminal Justice from Mississippi Gulf Coast Community College and graduated with highest honors from the University of Southern Mississippi, earning a Bachelor of Science Degree in Criminal Justice. He is a 2004 graduate of Northwestern University School of Police Staff and Command, Class #198.

Chief Seal is married to Leigh Seal and they have three daughters, two granddaughters and one grandson.
